Izo Motobe is an old Japanese Jujitsu master who mostly watches fights and offers insight on unusual techniques being used.

History
Motobe trained with Baki, mostly beating him up, at some point. In the Maximum Tournament, he is defeated by Kinryuuzan, the Yokozuna, in the first round but sticks around to watch the rest of the tournament, analyzing all the fights.
After the tournament, Motobe begins to use kenjitsu and later teams up with Shibukawa to fight the convict Ryuuko Yanagi. He seems to have more of an obsession with defeating Yujiro than most martial artists but he has never shown to be a match for him.
